The Renaissance (derived from the Latin Word for "rebirth") of the past millenium was a force that left an everlasting mark on the Western World when it began in Italy in 1300 C.E. (for Common Era) and spread throughout Europe, but by 1600 C.E., it had also influenced the entire world. With growing advances in fields such as science, exploration, politics, philosophy and the arts, it brought the Western World and into a new period and level of progress and prosperity that has been rivaled only by the progress and prosperity of the 19th and 20th centuries C.E. As we have now entered a new millenium where dark times lie ahead, now is the time to bring back that "rebirth" with a Post-Modern Renaissance. Here, we will take the progress and prosperity of the 20th century and combine it with the classical humanistic themes of the previous millenium's Renaissance in order to make a difference and change our world for the better, by breaking down old frontiers and establishing new ones, and proving that there are no limits except those we each choose for ourselves. Through this, we can perform vast miracles - we can end all war and poverty, save the environment, create a refined system of politics that will provide more sustainable & ethical solutions for a growing world population (including expansion of world peace, the purging of the forces of corruption, and utilization of more efficient and recycable energy resources), and achieve more global accomplishments in science, culture, philosophy, religion and the arts. It will be a collaborative task on a monumental scale that will drastically improve the life of the individual, the community and the whole world. Spread the word, not only here but on other networks such as MySpace, Facebook and wherever else you have your own social profile. No matter what your individual backgrounds may be, no matter what differences separate us, no matter what the odds are that we may succeed or fail, we can all join together to leave our mark on this world and mold the shape of things to come, in a way that is not only beneficial for ourselves, but for our children, for future generations.
